When my children were young I wanted to give them pure food produced with integrity, without masses of additives or industrial processing. I also wanted to farm traditional breeds in a sane, sustainable way. That was over thirty years ago - then I was a lone pioneer! Now the real food movement is firmly established.
From Heal Farm we produce a wide range of delicious food that you can trust. Our convictions are as strong now as they were thirty years ago. Having retired from active farming, today we source our meat from trusted local suppliers. We want our customers to enjoy our food and have the benefit of our knowledge and experience. We are pleased to give advice as a personalised service.

Storing
Your paperwork is included within the parcel.
Our products can be stored in the fridge for a few days (please note use by dates on the wrapping) or you could freeze almost all products - check label. See De-Frosting Guide.
If contained in trays with lids, tubs or are vacuum packed, products can be placed in the fridge or freezer as they are.
Large joints & birds are best removed from wrappings, covered lightly in fresh greaseproof and placed at the bottom of the fridge on a tray.
Note: Meats wrapped over a period of time without air around them can acquire an odour due to the anaerobic environment, especially with 'hung meats' such as beef. This will dissipate within 10-15 minutes of unwrapping.
Safe Food Handling
At Heal Farm our systems are scrupulous in food hygiene & handling and we urge you to take similar steps to avoid any possibilities of cross-contamination:
Raw meat and poultry at the bottom of a fridge and cooked items uppermost; food preparation of each on different surfaces.
With houses being largely warmer these days great care should be taken to minimise the length of time that foods are left un-chilled.
Heal Farm Meats have moved to a unit conveniently situated 2 minutes off the A361 North Devon Link Road. Visitors are welcome to call us on 01769 574 341 & arrange to collect orders from here. All Heal Farm produce is prepared fresh to order so to guarantee availability please contact us at least a day ahead.

South Molton is a great place to visit for antiques and collectables. On Thursday and Saturday mornings 8-1pm it is at its liveliest with a wide range of stalls in the traditional pannier market.
The Cheese Larder stocks a fabulous range of artisan cheeses, condiments and more. Also down the road from us is Melchior Chocolates divine award winning chocolates – see them being crafted by hand.

North Devon is home to superb eateries and we are proud to be supplying the very best local chefs. We feel particularly chuffed when they win awards and enjoy helping them plan menus and innovate recipes. We source super new ingredients for our chef customers and can now offer these by mail order.
